From now until 30 November, you can witness history in the making by seeing the space capsule that will bring the first Singaporean to near-space.
The space capsule is exhibited inside S.E.A. Aquarium, behind the replica of the bow of Bao Chuan, legendary sea explorer Zheng He’s treasure ship.

Space capsule exhibited at S.E.A. Aquarium until 30 November 2014.
The space capsule is the brainchild of local company INNOVATION Genius (IN.Genius).
The company plans to launch the craft, along with a Singaporean pilot, in a helium stratospheric balloon craft into near-space, more than 20km above sea level on National Day 2015 on 9 August 2015.

Besides the space capsule, there is an exhibit about how the craft came to fruition and the different hard work behind making this dream possible.
Be sure to stick around at these time slots 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm and 5:30pm when some of the pilot candidates will be around to answer questions about the project, space and space exploration.

You might be wondering why the space capsule is exhibited at S.E.A. Aquarium since the sea is the polar opposite of the sky.
Jern Yang, one of the pilot candidates, said the space capsule’s theme of exploration of space ties in with the Aquarium’s marine exploration theme, specifically’s Zheng He’s voyages.
