A while ago, we taught readers how to fold origami dolphins. While it is relatively simple to transform a piece of handicraft paper into an origami dolphin, we challenged readers to get creative and send in their masterpieces. Here are our favourite five.
Audrey Tung keeps things simple by placing her origami dolphin in a plastic bowl. With a few hand-drawn marine animals as friends, we can almost imagine Audrey’s dolphin cheering out loud: “I’m a dolphin!”
We aren’t sure what inspired Ignatius Tan to come up with this pretty creation, but seeing the origami dolphins hang in the wind gives us a sense of calm. And for that, Ignatius’ work gets our vote!
Tan You Bao’s work caught our attention with its comic strip-inspired approach. Besides the family-friendly storyline, we also adore the psychedelically-coloured dolphin. How can anyone not be enthralled by such lovely rainbow colours?
Desmond Lau cleverly places his origami dolphin against a computer screen while it peeks at a toy brick figurine. The blue dolphin seems to be telling the bearded fisherman: “Do not hunt endangered marine animals!”
Chua Yin Chiat’s wide-eyed origami dolphin is awed by the wondrous aquatic world. If we could swim among the colourful reefs and corals, we would be enchanted by the colourful sights too!
Each winner of this monthly challenge has won a pair of tickets to Marine Life Park’s S.E.A. Aquarium or Adventure Cove Waterpark.
The dolphins can now be seen at the world’s largest aquarium. Check out the information panels in the aquarium and learn about these fascinating animals.
