Marine Life Park™ Blog, A RWScoop Blog

The magnificent manta ray, besides wowing guests at the S.E.A. Aquarium’s Open Ocean Gallery, is very happy because of all the entries received from readers who responded to our call earlier. Here are our favourite five.

Teoh Yong Han

Teoh Yong Han cheered us up with his colourful depiction of the underwater world. Is that a pink ray we see in the picture? The use of psychedelic splashes of paint will make any Scrooge smile, regardless of how blue his day is.

Stetson

We love how Stetson Tan painted the seas green. Who says waters are meant to be blue all the time? With a little imagination, a manta ray can be red, blue, green and yellow at the same time!

Bhadani Simran

Colour pencils were used in Bhadani Simran’s masterpiece, and the clean strokes created a nice effect on the manta ray. Although it is coloured in shades of grey, we can feel its happiness as it swims through the waters.

Yi Quan

Who’s the fairest of them all? Tan Yi Quan’s take on the manta ray is simple yet eye-catching – so much so that we think the fish are looking at it in envy.

Mandy Kaw

Is that a treasure trove we see? Mandy Kaw cleverly added a chest of what we assume is a sunken fortune in her art piece. In the name of fortune and prosperity, we are rewarding Mandy with a prize.

These art pieces will be on display at the S.E.A. Aquarium’s Conservation Corner, so watch out for them when you visit. Each winner of this monthly challenge has won a pair of tickets to Marine Life Park’s S.E.A. Aquarium or Adventure Cove Waterpark.
